What kind of investment/thing do you plan after you give birth or in the future?

Investment- A townhouse (but still saving up for the down payment!)
Thing- an iPhone 5 (it's a shame I still don't have one, need to prepare for my delivery than that!)

Tell yours!

After giving birth, hubby and I will look for a 2 to 3 bedroom condo in the metropolis. A rent-to-own condo. Very good initial investment while our family is still small. Will need to find a great realtor first! And when we say great, it does spell d-i-s-c-o-u-n-t!! :p

Baby Stuffs on Sale

I didn't buy a car seat yet but ended up having this! A nappy bag that doesn't look like one! Love it!

A parcel of land in the rural area... cheaper but will surely appreciate after a couple of years :)

That's a wise investment Gemma. REIs are definitely booming these days.

Ditto!

@ Fanny and Gemma - you couldn't go wrong with REI as long as the location is ok. Not all properties appreciate in value. It's still the location that matters.

I agree with you Dalinda, it does depend on the location. My sissy had some real estate investment 4 times and failed on the 5th property they've put their money on. Lots of research and feasibility study should be practised before jumping into anything no matter how expert we are on a certain field.

Speaking of apps, I think apps on finances and budgeting are great companions in managing our income and staying out of debt for sure.

So true, we need to give time, effort and painstakingly decide on a big investment as we are not hardcore business tycoons ourselves that if we fail (knocking on wood) it won't be too much of something that would crush our spirit.

Couldn't agree more Abana. With the status of our economy these days, we have to think over and over again, along research etc. on the best kind of investment we put our funds onto. Money is still money.

@ Edda- Yes they are extremely helpful but I find having the old school notepad seem more convenient.

I agree. Sometimes there's this intermittent internet connection when I use a certain money app so I end up having to list down on a piece of paper the stuff that I needed to do and goodies to purchase.

How about investing in forex?
I've heard a lot about www.forex-metal.com and this broker has helped my uncle earn big time in trading.

Hmm... Need to educate myself then on this!

I agree. That's a good investment, if and only if, you're very much well acquainted with the technicalities of it. Practice and knowledge still is a determiner of success in forex.

I'm very much interested in real estate too especially with the buy-to-let method. That's a dream investment for me and my hubby! But we'll be putting that off now that our princess has just arrived. :)

This is buying a property and renting it out, right?

It is. I guess it's just a British phrase of buying a property and holding it up for rent. :)

A dream investment indeed! I just wish I have the money to do the "buying" part :S

We're all capable of doing that. It's "WHEN" that's the issue. We need to save up as much as we can for that dream to be fulfilled. Aaaahhh, better said than done! :p

So true, especially when our family gets bigger. But come to think of it, these investments are very ideal in boosting our earnings to support our getting bigger fam, right?

I've tried a demo account for a couple of months and good thing I've studied more about it. I realized, it's not the right niche for me. :(
