DIY (Do-It-Yourself) STUFF

Hello everyone! We might think DIY stuff are petty, but oftentimes, these stuff make us bloody sane! Let's admit it, we women love partying, shopping etc, but deep in our hearts, we often want to do something traditional, practical or old school. Like me I'm wanting to learn crocheting. Currently my project is Cloth Diapers. It's great with all those different colors. It's advisable too, my mum says, but only during daytime. Better still to have your babies wear a disposable nappy on nighttime or sleep time as they're much absorbent so the babies will all get a good night sleep.

Share your DIY projects and stuff in here!!

My DIY idea now is to create cross-stitched names of my sons. Will then stitch or attach them to Christmas socks. Will go out tomorrow to look for cross-stitching sets in the metro. I'm so excited!!!

My MIL loves crocheting and she taught me how to crochet last weekend. It was a great bonding, the 3 of us - MIL, baby and I!! :) I was able to create the left booties using the other one (the right one, which my MIL created) as my pattern. The pink booties are so cute! Simple but I know it's a labor of love!

A mini play pen!

Also thinking of my eldest old toys being incorporated to a mini-play pen for them 2. All recycled and DIY'd!! *excited!!

You gave me an idea. I was into crocheting way back in 2005. Been busy with my post-grad school and work. I read your post and it rang a bell. I should be going back to crocheting for my little one's stuff.

My very own bead and shell windchime

I got some shells and unused beads from my parents' house. And bought some materials now. I'm so enthusiastic creating my own windchime! I love chimes. The soothing sound it creates and how I feel nostalgic about it... I might be creating more for my parents as well! :)

try using cola plastic bottles, cut them in half, and then decorate both halves the way you want it. then put light bulbs inside, hang them like a mobile in different heights...

errr... I don't know if I explained that nicely! ha! anyway... the idea is you will have a decorative "chandelier" made of recycled plastic cola bottles. ^^

As a key feature in a bedroom, the headboard helps set the decorative tone.

If you think of a headboard as a picture frame ― it can even be a real picture frame if you wish ― you'll get a sense of how easy it is to change a bedroom's look.

The three examples described here demonstrate the range of possibilities.

PICTURE FRAME

Create a headboard picture frame by using decorative molding from a home improvement store. Screw the molding to a fabric-covered wood panel sized to fit the bed.

Or adapt a prefabricated picture frame by screwing it to a fabric-covered plywood panel. Match the frame and the fabric to the bed linens.

Wow, that picture frame idea is just great! I love the Asian feel. Very exotic. That's gonna be one of my DIY To Do list this year for sure.

I've come across one like that and the pictures used were beautiful photos of nature and scenery from old calendars. That's creativity plus being environment friendly!

Good idea! I've realised that we could even turn clutters to our creativity and cash!

Great idea! Thanks for sharing. Besides that DIY project, we could even use toilet tissue cores for wall decor too. Just a little paint, some buttons and beads to be used as a decoration, and a great adhesive are enough.

I also figured out the usefulness of the last photo. That would indeed make all my casserole tops organized.

Oh dear, we're not even sure if this has been photoshopped or how "tidy" the other side of the bed is which wasn't included in this photo. LOL!
