Pregnancy in the 40's
My aunt is planning to have a baby but she is already in her early 40's. She only has one kid and finally decided it's now or never! Do you know if there are any problems with having babies at such age?

risky
It varies. There are moms who are lucky enough to have a smooth pregnancy, others do have complications. If she wants to then it's her choice to take the risk. I'm not sure if what you're saying is she's still planning or she's already expecting. Coz if she's still planning, well it'll get riskier as she age. If getting pregnant is easy for her, then go. If she'll try to conceive on the following years, then might as well not to so as to keep her safe and the baby too, ultimately.

If she's healthy, fit and no sickness at all then might as well take another plunge to motherhood! :)

Re: Pregnancy in the 40's
She said the doctor said she might have to take some kind of pills to help her have a baby... We're all kinda wary about the idea actually. We fear that it might just bring complications on the baby i.e. if she is going to have one. Oh and they are planning to have one!

Re: Pregnancy in the 40's
Not really the best idea but if you are aunt is a healthy type of person, active, never had problems with pregnancy then I think it is okay to try

Re: Pregnancy in the 40's
Everything is on God's hand as of this moment so if she really wants to, she should go for it, prepare her body for the pregnancy and trust God that everything will turn out just fine for her and her baby.

@ Abigail - I think there should not be a problem I know lots of moms that are equally cool or even way cooler than their kids sans the age gap.
