How to ask my husband to have his sperm count checked

Getting pregnant never came in our way. Me and my husband are sweeter and more passionate as ever. Actually, I feel like we're closer now that we have the same aim of getting pregnant. Both of us have our fair share in researching the best methods on how to conceive. But of course it's always me, me, me when it comes to consultations, OB observations etc. I'm thinking, not because of this arrangement being unfair, but he should also be checked. My OB hasn't asked us yet for his sperm count to be checked because she is extremely focused on my body's preparedness for conception. Maybe later on, she will. But I wanna do it as in RIGHT NOW. Is it ok to ask my husband to have him checked? Will it offend him? I mean how do I say it or ask him the right way?

Why don't you ask your doctor about it? Then, maybe she can do the asking from your husband ;)

Why don't you just ask him directly in a nice way? Just say that it would be fair if you both do it or something

Thanks!

Any other way or approach to tell him this idea?

Not an expert dear but discussing this with an OB present will make things lighter for the two of you.

It depends on how you know your hubby's personality. You're the only one who could decide on which approach is best for him. If you're both open to each other then I think telling him directly won't be a biggie. If you think he's not that good in confrontation then Halia's suggestion could work. Good luck.

Hey Fanny, what do you think happens if you go straight to your hubby, tell him to exhaust all options of the two of you getting checked, emphasizing that his sperm count may also be checked? Do you think he'd get angry or defensive?

I agree with Cadelaria. I guess what she suggested is the "way or method" of doing what I've previously suggested so there...

Thanks for those helpful replies ladies! Haven't done it as of yet but will do when I find the right strategy. ;)

Knowing my hubby as a very understanding and loving man, I think he won't get mad at me. It's just we haven't talked about a topic as sensitive as potency and such so it's actually me who feels uncomfortable suggesting him to get checked too. I don't know...
