What is a baby registry?

I often hear that Target has a great baby registry and so does Toys R Us. But what exactly is it?

It is a "wishlist" of parents-to-be containing all the items they want for their baby on the way. A lot of stores like Target or Babies R us offer a baby registry. You will be given like a wand, scan the things you want for your baby as a gift. You will of course inform your friends where your baby's registry is. They will then go to that store and choose among your registry list there. Every time an item is bought it's removed from that wish list, I believe.
Baby registries are fun and very, very practical. :)

Abana's right. They're very, very practical. Check out Target, Walmart or Toys R Us so you could register your baby now and start filling your bucket list.

It's a gift list that your friends could check into to know what you want for your baby.

I had one done before I gave birth ^^ It was real fun! It's like choosing things you want for your baby without cash :P And then you wait for your awesome friends and relatives to buy the stuff for you (and of course, the baby)! ^^

True! I'd shamelessly admit, I saved a lot of money because of it. Also, it makes sure that you will not have doubled gifts. :)

You choose a place you prefer first for your bubs to be registered. You fill their list with ALL of the stuff you want for your baby. Your friends will then use that list in choosing their gifts for your bubs. Very practical, realistic and fun! Say goodbye to old school gift giving of duplicate gifts and such. I've been a fan of these baby registries for my 2 kids!

Registries are very practical. We had our wedding registry and were overly surprised that its functionality is of great help especially in getting the stuff we really love. Baby registries are equally great ideas.

Great! Thanks for the suggestions ladies. :)
I'm thinking, is it ok to use the same baby registry that I used for the baby shower and for the baptismal?
