Pregnant and vegan??
I've got a colleague who's vegan and just found out that she's 2 months pregnant. Any ideas on vegan diets for the pregnant ones? Thanks in advance!

Re: Pregnant and vegan??
Vegans don't eat meat so perhaps they need to increase their protein by eating vegetables and soy products.

Re: Pregnant and vegan??
I guess there's no problem with regards to their diet as I feel like vegan diet is much healthier. :) If she's a vegan for quite a long time then all she has to do is manage the quantity of what she eats as she's already consuming for two. If she's just a new vegan then she'll definitely adjust and be wary on the stuff she eats.

If dairy products are a no-no for her, these could be a good source of calcium:
- broccoli and other green, leafy vegetables. - nuts, sesame seeds - dried fruits - tofu - soya products like yoghurts and soya milks |
