Different Kinds of Contraceptive Methods

What contraceptive did you use before?
Which birth control pills are you planning to take when your baby is born?
Would you opt for implants and other non-pill and non-injectable way of pregnancy contraception?

Re: Different Kinds of Contraceptive Methods

As for me, me and my hubby just use an ultra thin condom.
Will try some patches next time. :)

As I've mentioned in another thread, I'd opt for pills. IUD scares me.

Yeah, I've heard of those emergency patches before but never tried one yet. I'm just curious how accurate and effective it is.

What exactly are emergency patches? Are they really effective?

Oh, to answer the question, these are what I've tried so far: Pills and Condom.
BTW, some of my friends use a female condom. Anyone tried it? How was it?

I've tried it twice but the feeling wasn't that appealing. Weird at first I guess, but not a fan.

Same here Halia, bloody not a fan! IMHO, pills are the best as "nothing" beats the real thing. #naughty ;)

Really? Well, I guess it's much more convenient to be used by the guys, right? Well, let's leave the condom to them! Haha! :D

I guess. I mean it works with some of my pals. But I feel like I'm not truly confident with it so I prefer pills above all.

But they say even with pills, the safety isn't 100% as there will still be a chance of getting pregnant. Ligation then is the solution but I'm too early for this kind of option. :p

Yes, and all artificial contraceptive methods happen to have only 99% efficacy so there's still a chance of getting pregnant. You only get 100% surety of not getting pregnant if you are ligated or your hubby/partner underwent vasectomy.

Another way is to breastfeed. Most moms who do have lesser chances of getting pregnant.

I'm currently breastfeeding and I should say that we do save a lot of quids by doing so, haha! :p

Yes, my doctor says it is as effective as the birth control pills but it's being used during a woman's monthly period.

Oh, sounds interesting. I've never heard of a form of contraception that's being used while having a period.

That's a good idea! But I don't wanna get pregnant just yet. Wanna give all our love and attention first to Schuyler, our handsome boy. :) I'm also nursing but we use extra protection now such as condoms and sometimes use the pull out method. Guess I'm just so paranoid. My bleeding stopped last month so I assume I'll have my regular period next month so we need to be extra careful. ;)

Don't be too paranoid! Nursing is an effective birth control method and I'm telling you, it's more fun without that extra precautionary measures, LOL! ;)

I go for the pill... condoms just feel too artificial, no matter how "thin" it's supposed to be. But i do wish they have pills for men! :D

You're right, but I'm thinking.. A pill that'll control the production of their sperm cells? Uhm, that might be a bit weird, haha!

That just made me chuckle. But who knows? With our ever-evolving world it may be possible. But I think it could lessen the guy's ego IMHO.

Let me know if you tried it Abana. Oh, you're a TTCer so I know you wouldn't be trying this out for sure. :)
