Placenta hemorrhage, Is it dangerous?

I am 16 weeks pregnant. 3 weeks ago, I started to bleed. My gynae did an ultrasound, and found hemorrhage of the placenta. She also told me that the placenta had started to pull away on an edge. I am concerned if my baby is safe. Doctor has asked me complete bed-rest until the next ultrasound. I am not sure what is going on? Can anyone please help?

Re: Placenta hemorrhage, Is it dangerous?

This is not a very usual problem and usually happens when placenta is close to the cervix’s opening. The longer your pregnancy will stretch, the brighter the chances will be for your cervix to elongate and move away from placenta.
Let’s hope it would get normal soon. Just stay calm! Stress can further complicate the matter.
