Default My pregnancy and my stubborn ACNE!!! ugh!!

I'm due this January. Right now I have rashes and pimples. Back acne is worsening. My OB told me to use a kojic acid. I wonder how the scars would diminish post pregnancy though.. Any tips?

I also had breakouts in my first pregnancy, not too much though to have a prescribed medication for it. Kojic Acid helps in drying up the pimples fast enough. It's hormonal honey, so not matter how hygienic or OC you are in cleansing and toning, they might still pop. Sorry for sounding this way, I'm not saying this for you to be hopeless. Hon, this is thereality. For now, focus on the other aspects of your pregnancy as that's just one of the few things you're sacrificing now. Have a safe and healthy pregnancy and childbirth. When you give birth, I'm telling you, the slimming and beautifying possibilities are endless! Cheer up!

Oh my I also had acne before and believe me, I felt as if I'm the ugliest at that time. I looked terrible! I've used Clearasil Ultra and it did lessen my acne, not 100% though, but enough for me in having strength to look in the mirror. LOL. Given the fact that OTC meds are very bad for the baby, be very cautious in finding acne products with Benzoyl Peroxide. Also Salicylic Acid is a no-no so be very careful too. Stay positive. Stress could also worsen your acne.

Benzoyl Peroxide has helped me with my acne, but I was scared to try it while pregnant. Some do say that it's fine and won't affect the baby. But I don't want to take risks especially when we're talking about MY baby. Hormonal changes are normal during pregnancy, you gotta accept that dear. Still beginning to feel the sacrifices for your bundle of joy.

My tried and tested advice/s: water, water, water and keep your hands away from your face!

You've got a point Cadelaria, it COULD worsen her acne. But you know what? Me and my ex-husband got into numerous fights when I was pregnant with my first. I'm the most stressed out preggy woman in the world! It's ironic my friends say I was "glowing"- pinkish skin and no pimples at all! 2nd pregnancy was a breeze and no emotional stress at all, but I got what I called "the pimples of the lifetime"- the cysts, blackheads and inflammation just popped from my T-zone and my back.

Funny these "normal" hormonal changes sometimes act "abnormally". LOL

Ditto to the above posts!
All you can do is get enough rest, drink lots of water, always keep your face clean and use a good soap recommended by both your dermatologist and OB just so you know that it's safe for you.

Right now when I get yucky zits the Lactacyd baby wash used as my facial wash makes my zits a little less visible.
