Default Any ideas on pregnancy exercises?

Do you do any kind of exercise? I know that not a lot of pressure should be put but at the same time there must be some kind of exercise... What do you normally do? Any special moves?

Default Brisk Walking - for now :)

"Exercise during the second trimester of pregnancy can be very important in keeping up your energy level and helping you sleep well at night. It can also help prepare your body for labor and prevent too much weight gain" - Mayo Clinic, 2010
For now, I have been doing some brisk walking in the mornings and in late afternoons. No specific pregnancy exercises as of yet. It's advisable because it lessens the pain and numbness on several parts of my body and they say it eases out childbirth.

My OB says be very careful with preggy exercises as if you get too tired, your baby might not get enough oxygen. It's knowing when to stop. Not really a fan of specific preggy exercises, but I'll try some at a later time. Right now I'm to stretching and some meditation as I am advised to do so coz of past depression. It really helps to put me and my baby in a tip-top shape.

Dancing in the early part of pregnancy is great. You have to ask you OB first though if you are up to it.

I am doing the butterfly position exercise:

- Soles of my feet together.
- My knees being widely opened like a diamond.
- Using my elbows in opening the hips.
- Holding for about 30 seconds to 1 minute.
- Doing it everyday
- Could be done in 2nd and 3rd Trimester

This helps in increasing flexibility and making labor a little easier.

How about Yoga? It's great to have a sound body and mind too.

I used to join Yoga classes on the early part of my pregnancy. And yep, it did me real good. It removes the stress and good for the body too.

Great to hear that! I love relaxation and meditation especially now that the stress of pregnancy start to kick in!
